Herrings founded NexaData Solutions after more than ten years building data infrastructure inside the kinds of organisations Malawi's data ecosystem most needs to serve — government ministries, the United Nations, and major international health and education programmes. He currently serves as a Technical Advisor – Data Engineer with the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), architecting the data pipelines and analytics platform behind Rwanda's National Health Intelligence Center in partnership with the Ministry of Health.
His prior work spans a data centre and cloud architecture role on Malawi's World Bank–funded Digital Acceleration Project, a data management analyst position with the UN Office of Internal Oversight Services, and IT and data leadership roles at the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, RTI International, and Population Services International — delivering data warehouses, ETL pipelines, and executive Power BI reporting across health, education, and public-sector programmes in multiple countries.
